I was coming off a long reunion with console games, specifically Nintendo, and was starting to tire of simple, shallow fun. It's been at the top of my bucket list for years, and I always tried to psychologically manipulate myself into playing it, but to no avail. I turned it on for a half-hour once, but was too overwhelmed and confused to continue. I had heard horror stories of how complex this game was, and how you could screw yourself and be unable to progress if you used your resources poorly. I had intended to play SS2 for a long, long time, but never got around to it, mainly out of fear. I bought this game ages ago, knowing that it was the same breed of late 90's early 2000's immersive sim as Thief 2 and Deus Ex, games that I love dearly. System Shock 2 has been a game that's been on my mind for a very long time.
